This event is a benefit to support Opera New York’s workshop for young singers, and to keep the Italian tradition of great music, from Neapolitan to Opera, alive and well.
Opera New York also supports the semi-annual Chester Ludgin Verdi Baritone Competition, with Placido Domingo as Artistic Advisor and lead juror.
This competition is to celebrate the life and career of the great American baritone, Chester Ludgin, and to find that rare species, the Verdi Baritone.
Our 3rd competition will be in the fall of 2009.
Date TBA.
