Manhattan Woods, based on Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, with the
original Strauss music and new book and lyrics by Frederick Stroppel; Vincent, a cross-over music theatre piece based on the letters of Vincent
and Theo Van Gogh, and Rappaccini’s
Daughter, a music-drama based on the short story by
Nathaniel Hawthorne, both with book, lyrics, and music by Robert Mitchell.
Opera New York has also produced The Four Divas concerts
as well as full productions of Tosca

TALES FROM THE MANHATTAN WOODS
The new and updated
New York City version of Die Fledermaus follows a real estate tycoon to a
wild party, hours before he goes to jail. Sparked by the effervescent Strauss
music, his carousing is complicated by a suspicious wife, an amorous tenor,
social climbers, cross-dressers and downtown divas which are all part of the
mix.
